Quicker than i thought i could i have now started the "Happy Birthday Jewel" project! It's up and running here and you can find a link to it either on the banner above or the button on the side. More or less exactly the same thing as the Happy Anniversary Project, but this is for Jewel's 24th birthday, to be celebrated on the 2nd of June. There are banners and buttons available for this project too, located here. Please grab and add on your site. Let me know if you do and I can add your site up to thank you. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Happy Anniversary Fanbook for Jewel and Matt's third wedding anniversary. Due to personal issues i've been unable to print or send it off yet. Yes, i'm on my way to making the site that bit more interactive. I've finally created an LJ community for the site and Jewel right here. Please join in! I'm hoping that'll be a place for all fans of Jewel to post anything and everything. And even have some almost deep and meaningful discussions on all things Jewel.

Jewel has graciously donated some recipies to the International Browncoat Cookbook. This is a cookbook created by fans for everyone and anyone. And all sales of the book will go to Freedom from Hunger, a charity working to find solutions for hunger around the world. They currently have 150 recipies and are always looking for more.

Huge congratulations to both Jewel and Matt, today, on their third wedding anniversary. Three years ago today Jewel and Matt married on the shores of Maui with a small ceremony with Morena Baccarin and Nathan Fillion in tow. The biggest congratulations to the happy couple and i wish them many more years of married bliss.

Jewel has confirmed that she will be attending her very first convention in New Zealand later this and next month. She'll be attending Armageddon in Wellington, New Zealand, on the 29th of April. Also she'll be appearing at The Hub in Sydney, Australia on May 6th and 7th. For more information on Armageddon visit this website or for more information on The Hub head here.

Jewel has been nominated for a Gemini Award for her role of Elia in the Stargate Atlantis episode, Instinct. Huge congratulations to Jewel!

We'll be seeing Jewel in a new movie role very soon! She's been cast in a new movie called The Tribe. She describes it, in her blog, as a cross between Lost and Predator with plenty of action. She also mentions that she's got a pretty major role in the movie, so something to look forward to Jewel fans! The movie will begin shooting in May in Costa Rica. More news will be posted as soon as any more info has been found.

I'll be going on holiday for a week and a bit tomorrow. Which will unfortunately mean i won't be able to update the news here or answer emails. I'll be back on the 22nd, from when i'll be able to get back to normal here!

Just an update on the project. We've got over 50 entries now in the book, but 50 more would be fantastic! I've now created a few banners, which you can see here, so you can now link to the project and spread the word that little bit more!

The site has finally got an update, of sorts, so big hooray for that! Thanks to some generous contributors more wallpapers and fanart have been added. There's also a new section in the media section, called media clips, which will house downloadable media clips of all things Jewel.

But the biggest thing of today's update is the little Happy Anniversary Jewel project i'm trying to get started. You can see the banner above which links to a page with some information. But this month heralds Jewel & Matt's 3rd anniversary and I thought it'd be a great thing for fans to let the happy couple know how happy they are for them. Click the banner and sign the book.
